Cherry Hill West’s baseball team took its win streak on the road to Shawnee, among the top 10 teams in South Jersey in several polls, and wasted no time in establishing itself, scoring five runs in the top of the first on the way to an 8-6 victory Thursday.
A day after putting up 15 hits and 11 runs against Camden Catholic, the Lions’ offense was once again hot—West’s batters pounded out 13 hits against Shawnee, including Matt Giampetro’s home run.

Giampetro was one of three players, along with A.J. Sohacki and Jake Campbell, who drove in two runs in the game.
Brad Machinski went all seven innings on the mound, striking out eight Shawnee batters on the way to the victory.

As they did against Cherry Hill East Wednesday, the Renegades tried to stage a late comeback, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh before the Lions ended the rally to clinch the win.
