Don't Text and Drive Campaign Comes to Cherry Hill
Miss Atlantic County Lindsey Giannini brings her platform to Camden County.
Cherry Hill West and East, Camden Catholic and Camden County College students are seeing new reminders about the dangers of distracted driving, thanks to a campaign run by Lindsey Giannini, the current Miss Atlantic County, which has as its goal an end to texting and driving.
The signs are stark and simple, with a crossed-out cell phone and just five words: "Stay Alive: don't text & drive."
Giannini reached out to Sgt. Amy Winters of the Cherry Hill Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit to bring the campaign to the township, who put distracted driving in with speeding and driving under the influence as major factors in car crashes.

"Even with the number of accidents and fatalities, we still see people texting and holding cell phones while driving," Winters said.
