Authorities are asking for help from the public to identify the man they say punched a Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) officer in the face near the Ferry Avenue PATCO High-Speed Line station earlier this month.
The man was described as Hispanic, between 5-7 and 5-9, with a slim build and close-cropped, receding dark hair, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
The man, without any provocation, punched the officer, who was sitting in his patrol vehicle in the face, according to the prosecutor's office. The attacker may have had held something in his hand to increase the force of the punch, prosecutors said.
The officer was cut, bruised, and suffered damage to his right eye. He attempted to chase down his attacker, but was unsuccessful, authorities said.
The prosecutor's office released a video of the man they say is the alleged assailant. Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to call Detective Gerald Torres of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (856) 225-8617 or (856) 580-2046.
