East Boys, Girls, West Boys Soccer All Win Openers

The Dennis Stein era got off to a solid start, as Cherry Hill East's boys soccer team blanked Camden Catholic, 5-0, behind Jacob Russ's four-goal effort Thursday afternoon.

Stein took over the reins of the team this fall, after longtime coach Karl Moehlmann retired at the end of last season.

Boys soccer

Cherry Hill West 1, Eastern 0

West's Devin Crouch delivered the drama, drilling in the Lions' lone goal with just 25 seconds left in regulation Thursday.

West's Hayden Remphrey made 12 saves to shut out Eastern.

Field hockey

Camden Catholic 3, East 0

Cherry Hill native Tara Vittese scored twice and teammate Jill Bottino added the Irish's third goal as Camden Catholic shut out East to open the season.

Girls soccer

East 4, Camden Catholic 0

The Cougars' Dana Barth and Emily Rimdzus each scored twice, as East shut out Camden Catholic in the teams' season opener.

Eastern 2, West 1

The Lions' Molly Sampson scored her team's only goal as Eastern edged West to start the fall.

Girls volleyball

Rancocas Valley 2, West 0

The Lions kept it tight in the second set after falling in the first, 25-10, but Rancocas Valley edged out West, 25-22, to sweep the match. West's Chelsea Holiday had two aces and eight assists in the loss.
