Guinness Record Holder, State Legion Tourney Highlight Week

Also, it's the last week for Music Under the Stars at Barclay Farmstead.

It’s not every day a Guinness World Record holder shows up in town, but Cherry Hill will host one of the more esoteric members of that list, when John Farnworth makes the trip Tuesday.

Who’s Farnworth, you ask?

Well, he’s arguably the world’s best soccer freestyler—that is, someone who can juggle a ball with his feet—and will be at the Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club just after noon Tuesday for a demonstration and ball-handling clinic.

Farnworth’s clinic will be free to the public, but attendees are asked to RSVP online.

Tuesday will be a busy one, with the final night for Cherry Hill’s Music Under the Stars performances at Barclay Farmstead, starting at 6:30 p.m. The series closes with the Kenny Jeremiah Trio on stage.

Summer baseball keeps going, as well, as the Cherry Hill Stealers are alive in the state Junior American Legion tournament, featuring some of the best under-17 talent in the state.

The Stealers won twice over the weekend, beating Mount Morris and Brooklawn in two comeback victories, and will face Gibbsboro Monday evening.

The outcome of that game will determine when the locals play again, but they’re a lock for action Tuesday, with a shot at a state title very much a possibility.

Want to learn about robots and how to program them? The Cherry Hill Public Library is hosting David Peins in a robotics workshop Monday night at 6 p.m.—but hurry up and register, since space is limited.

Starting Monday night and running all week, Kingsway Church will hold vacation Bible school starting at 7 p.m. daily, with registration starting at 6:30 p.m.

Local government takes a break this week, with no meetings either at the municipal or school levels.
