Machinski Sparks West Softball to Top Thursday Sports
East's golfers also win another close one.
The next time Bishop Eustace’s softball team faces Cherry Hill West, they may want to avoid pitching to Sierra Machinski.
The Lions’ junior was an offensive monster, going 2-for-3 with a double and a home run and drove in all four runs as West jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first on the way to a 4-1 victory over the Crusaders Thursday.
West also got doubles from Alicia DeFlaviis, Chelsea Holiday and Olyvia Smith.

The Cougars lost a one-run game for the second day in a row, despite smacking 15 hits against Burlington Township.
East took a 5-1 lead in the second, but saw Burlington Township slowly chip that away over the next four innings.
Rebecca Froyd hit a double for East and Casey Clark added a triple in the loss.

The Cougars hung close at the half, but couldn’t come back to exact revenge on Clearview, which dealt them an overtime loss earlier this season.
Caitlin Delaney and Emily Johnson each scored six goals to lead East.
