Mold No Longer an Issue at Cherry Hill East, Officials Say
Problems from earlier this summer have all been cleared ahead of the start of the school year.

Mold problems at Cherry Hill East, which forced administrators to move several programs out of the building earlier this month, have all been cleaned up, and the entire building is safe again ahead of the start of the new school year, school officials said.
An especially wet and hot stretch through June and July led to the problems in the high school’s B wing, school officials said previously, and remediation started at the end of July. It’s since been resolved, and testing indicates the mold has been eradicated.
“Everything's done and teachers can begin going to their classrooms,” district spokeswoman Susan Bastnagel said.

The contractors who were hired on the cleanup indicated mold has been a statewide problem this summer, officials said, thanks to what the National Weather Service said are rain totals more than eight inches above average over the last three months.
At the time, it forced district officials to move several programs out of the high school, including an SAT prep class, but things are back to normal throughout the building at this point, officials said.
