School Grant Vote, NJ Legion Tournament Top Week Ahead

Also, Cherry Hill's township council holds its second July meeting.

With the possibility of millions in state grants coming locally under a $425 million Schools Development Authority (SDA) program, Cherry Hill’s school board will advance $5.6 million in lease-purchase agreements for improvements across 15 schools in the district as part of this week’s agenda.

The projects, mostly boiler replacements and associated work, fall under what the SDA is referring to as Tier 1 infrastructure projects, which Jim Devereaux, the district’s assistant superintendent for business, said makes them likely to be at least partially grant-funded.

The school board has already approved lease-purchase financing for $3.3 million worth of upgrades already approved by the state, including lighting, lighting controls and software controls for heating systems.
