Voorhees Man Charged In Wife's Homicide
After receiving a call that Shawn Lichtfuss may try to hurt himself, police said they found his wife's body in their home.
VOORHEES, NJ — A Camden County man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of his wife, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Voorhees Police Chief Louis Bordi.
Voorhees police said they received a call just before 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, informing them that 49-year-old Shawn Lichtfuss, of Voorhees, had been sending text messages that he intended to harm himself.
Police responded to his home in the Village Apartments just after 11 a.m. After they didn’t get a response at the door, they entered the home, police said.

Once inside, they found the body of Lichtfuss’ wife, 38-year-old wife, Stefanie Caraway, according to authorities. Lichtfuss was not home at that time, police said.
An autopsy showed that Caraway’s cause of death was neck compression and the manner of death to was homicide, according to authorities.

At about 6 p.m., Lichtfuss was found in a parked car at the Royal Farms next to the police station, where he was arrested, police said.
Lichtfuss was processed and lodged in the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
