Voorhees Standoff Draws Cherry Hill, Gloucester Township Police

A teen barricaded himself inside a home on Burnham Lane Sunday.

A standoff in a neighborhood near the Voorhees-Cherry Hill border that drew officers from multiple towns ended peacefully after several hours Sunday.

Homeowners Hiren and Indira Gala called 911 after a man in his 20s violated a restraining order they’d taken out against him, Voorhees Chief Louis Bordi said, and Voorhees officers arrived to the parents fleeing the house.

“The suspect barricaded himself and advised he was not coming out,” Bordi said.
