West Baseball Beats Kingsway to Highlight Monday Sports
The Lions' tennis team and East's boys volleyball squad were also winners.
Matt Giampetro homered to lead the way on offense as Cherry Hill West’s baseball team overwhelmed Kingsway Monday, 8-2, in a nonleague game.
Lefty Will Allen got the pitching victory for the Lions, who jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, then broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Lenape 8, Cherry Hill East 7

Lenape scored one run in the bottom of the eighth to break an extra-innings tie and edge out the Cougars at home.
Mike Pierce and Nick Ciocco both doubled for the Cougars, but Matt Jolly was nearly unstoppable on the other side, driving in three runs for Lenape on 3-for-5 hitting.

Softball
Kingsway 13, West 2
The Lions made it a 3-2 game after two innings, but Kingsway chipped away on offense over the next three, before exploding for eight runs in the sixth inning to seal the win.
Lenape 10, East 4
The Cougars’ late rally produced three runs in the sixth, but Lenape did too much damage in the early going, racking up nine runs in the first two innings to carry the team to victory.

West 4, Winslow Township 1
Boys volleyball
East 2, Washington Township 0
The Cougars’ Nick DiVito smashed down 13 kills and teammate Liam McIntyre provided 20 assists and four blocks as East swept the Minutement, 25-15, 25-15.
Girls lacrosse
Washington Township 14, East 8
The Cougars went to halftime tied at six with the Minutemaids, but the Washington Township defense toughened up in the second half, allowing just two goals as East fell, 14-8.
Caitlin Delaney topped the Cougars’ scorers with five goals.
