West Baseball Walks Off to Highlight Monday Action

The Lions also get a win from the boys volleyball team.

A.J. Sohacki got his shot at being the hero for Cherry Hill West’s baseball team against Washington Township—and he delivered.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, Sohacki took 1-1 pitch to right field, driving in Brad Machinski and A.J. Wright for the walk-off victory at West Monday.

Machinski scattered four hits in six innings of pitching, and Will Allen got the victory after pitching a one-two-three inning in the top of the seventh.

The Lions have now won four straight and five of their last six to get to 5-3 on the season.

Shawnee 10, Camden Catholic 2

The Irish pulled within two runs in the fourth, but Shawnee scored runs in four straight innings to wrap up the victory.

Camden Catholic 3, Shawnee 0

A day after falling, 2-1 against the same team, the Irish solved the equation to shut out Shawnee.

The Lions managed just two hits against the Minutemaids.

Golf

Bishop Eustace 168, Cherry Hill East 185

East’s Sam Amon fired a 43 and Colton Cardea shot 45, but five Eustace players shot 45 or lower to come away with the win.

Boys lacrosse

Washington Township 9, Cherry Hill East 5

The Cougars went into halftime tied on the road, but the Minutemen put together a seven-goal effort in the second half to get the win.

Boys volleyball

Williamstown 2, East 1

The Cougars bounced back from a first-set loss to win the second, 25-22, but Williamstown got two 25-21 sets to claim victory.

West 2, St. Augustine 1

The Lions dominated in the first set, 25-11, and scrambled back for a 25-19 win in the third to clinch the match victory.

Boys tennis

East 5, Bishop Eustace 0

Doubles teams Nikhil Shukla and Dan Jang, and Greg Frank and Sam Yoon each swept 6-0, 6-0, as the Cougars cruised to victory over Eustace.
