Cinnaminson Township Launches New YouTube Channel

Cinnaminson's new YouTube channel will include videos of recent Township Committee meetings and community events.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — After more than a year of meeting virtually, Cinnaminson Township Committee recently returned to in-person meetings. However, that doesn’t mean anyone who can’t make it to town hall for those meetings needs to miss out altogether.

In a move Mayor Albert Segrest said has been a “long time coming,” the township launched a YouTube channel over the weekend.

As of Wednesday morning, the channel included videos from the most recent summer concert series show featuring 52nd Street, as well as the two most recent township committee meetings.
The meeting that took place Monday night went live on YouTube Wednesday morning.

“One of the things I hoped to accomplish as a member of Committee was to help push the township’s online presence forward to improve usability and transparency,” Committeeman Paul Conda said.

Thetownship’s website has been redesigned to make it easier for residents to find information over the last several years, and the advent of the township’s YouTube channel was the next step. The videos posted on the YouTube channel are also linked to the township’s website.

In addition to events, announcements from the mayor and other videos that are necessary will be posted, Conda said. The videos will also be linked to the township’s social media pages in the future, according to Conda.

“This Committee and Administration are committed to transparency, and I believe this is a significant move in that direction,” Conda said. “We will continue to make improvements to this platform as we go forward.”

The township is exploring options to livestream meetings, but expects meetings to be recorded and uploaded within a few days for the time being, according to Township Manager Eric Schubiger.

Committeeman Ryan Horner said Conda and Segrest played parts in getting the improvements done and improving the local government’s transparency.

“All the things we have done to enhance communication with the community should be commended,” Horner said. “This Township Committee prides itself on transparency and communication, and it’s those types of enhancements that really get our messaging out to the township the way that we would like to. Mr. Conda, you were a pit bull when it came to making sure the website got done, and we got some type of video player out there. Everyone should be commended that worked on that and pushing those initiatives forward.”
