Union Co. Man Charged For Role In Car Crash Killing 2 Men: Police
The 33-year-old was charged for his role in a fatal crash that occurred last year, killing two young men from Newark, Linden Police said.
UNION COUNTY, NJ — A Union County man was charged for his role in a fatal motor vehicle crash that killed two men from Newark in June of last year, according to Linden Police.
Jose Reyes-Morales, 33, of Elizabeth was driving a 2017 BMW 330I northbound on Route 1 when he crashed into a 2004 Mazda 3 at the intersection with Morses Mill Road on June 15. The passengers of the Mazda, Manuel Green, 22, and his brother Clarence Green, 15, were both killed in the crash.
“A crash like this is difficult and tragic for everyone involved,” Linden Police Chief David Hart said. “Hopefully the bringing forth of these charges will bring some sense of comfort to the Green family as they continue endure this incredible loss.”

After an investigation led by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau, in coordination with the Union County Homicide Task Force, Reyes-Morales was charged with two counts of second-degree reckless vehicular homicide.
He was arrested at his home on Friday, Feb. 22, 2021 and was sent to Union County Jail pending an appearance in Superior Court.
