Man Crashes Stolen Car Into Utility Pole In Union County: Police
The 20-year-old driver was arrested after crashing a stolen car into a utility pole and endangering two passengers, police said.
UNION COUNTY, NJ — A 20-year-old man from Union County was arrested Wednesday morning after his involvement in a serious car crash while driving a stolen vehicle, according to Linden Police.
Linden Police Officers arrived at the crash just before 3 a.m. after a 2009 Nissan Altima was driving south on N. Wood Avenue and the driver lost control and collided with a utility pole. A 16-year-old girl was ejected from vehicle during the crash, and a second passenger, an 18-year-old man from Union, was also injured.
Both passengers were treated by medics on the scene and were sent to Newark University Hopsital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation showed that the Nissan was stolen in Union earlier Wednesday morning. The driver, Brucely Bertin from Union, was treated on the scene for minor injuries prior to his arrest.
Bertin was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property and third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as fourth-degree assault by auto. He was released on a summons pending a scheduled appearance in Superior Court.
