DWI, Drug Possession, Theft: Recent Police Activity in Florham Park

Recent activity as reported by the Florham Park Police Department.

Florham Park Police reported the following recent incidents:

Oct. 1

A motoer vehicle stop at 2:01 a.m. led to the arrest of a 27-year-old West Orange woman for DWI.

Officer Daniel Braico stopped a vehicle on Columbia Turnpike for the improper display of a license plate and failure to keep right.

While speaking to the driver, Karly J. Mannion, Braico detected the odor of alcohol and came to the opinion that she was under the influence.

Mannion failed subsequent sobriety tests.

In addition to the DWI, she was charged with reckless driving; improper display of license plates and failure to keep right.

A motor vehicle stop at 11:56 p.m. results in the arrest of a 40-year-old Bedminister woman.

Braico observed a vehicle begin to turn into oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the road. The vehicle corrected its course after being alerted by another motorist, he said.

While speaking to the driver, Kelby B. Kramer, 40, during the stop, Braico detected the odor of alcohol and formed the opinion that Kramer was under the influence.

During the investigation, she refused to exit her vehicle to perform the field sobriety tests, according to the police report.

Kramer was charged with DWI; obstruction; and reckless driving.

Oct. 7

A motor vehicle stop at 1:03 p.m. led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Madison man for possession of marijuana.

Officer Daniel Bundschuh observed a vehicle pass him at a high rate of speed. After catching up with the vehicle, Bundschuh performed a traffic stop.

While speaking to the driver, Mateo L. Maduro, the officer detected the odor of marijuana.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Maduro was charged with: marijuana possession; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of CDS in a motor vehicle; careless driving; no liability insurance; failure to possess driver's license; failure to possess registration; and failure to change address.

Oct. 10

Florham Park police are investigating a burglary and theft from the Gulf gas station on Greenwood Avenue. At approximately 1:30 a.m., two unknown individuals broke into the gas station and stole money from the register, police said.
