1 Killed, 1 Injured In Independence Day Shooting In Mercer: Prosecutor

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police are currently investigating the shooting.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Trenton on Thursday, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, Trenton police responded to the 800 block of Stuyvesant Avenue on a shooting in progress.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Amir Williams of Trenton on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

Williams, 32, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later, officials said.

During the investigation, a second shooting victim, a woman, arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the right hip area.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating. No arrests have been made.
