DUI In School Zone, Reckless Driving: East Windsor Police Blotter
The East Windsor Police Blotter dated Aug. 8 had the following reports:
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — On Aug. 2, 11:17 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 133 West after observing the vehicle being operated erratically. The driver showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The driver, a 47-year-old Ewing resident was taken to police headquarters, processed, however, he refused to submit to breath testing. The driver was later released pending court action.
On Aug. 3, an officer responded to ShopRite to meet with Loss Prevention personnel who had an individual detained for shoplifting. The woman, an East Windsor resident, concealed miscellaneous merchandise valued at $69.93 in her purse and a shopping bag. She paid for other items, but not the items she hid. The woman was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, and released on a complaint summons pending court action.
On Aug. 4, at 9:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of Twin Rives Drive near the McKnight School for a report of a vehicle that struck a street sign and was driving on the sidewalk and grass near the school. The officer found the vehicle and stopped it on Lake Drive. The driver, a Pennington resident, showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The 24-year-old was taken to police headquarters, and processed, however, he refused to submit to breath testing. He was later released pending court action.

On Aug. 3, at 9:48 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Etra Road and Feldsher Road for a report of a vehicle off the road. The officer found the vehicle which was crashed into trees. The driver showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. Additionally, there were three juvenile passengers in the vehicle who were turned over to a guardian. The driver was taken to police headquarters, processed, and later released on a complaint summons pending court action.
