Theft of Property Mislaid, DUI: East Windsor Police Blotter

The East Windsor Police blotter dated July 31 had the following reports:

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — On July 25, 12:35 p.m., an officer responded to Walmart and met with a customer who reported leaving his bag containing $300 cash in a shopping cart. The bag was found in one of the aisles; however, the money was missing. Loss prevention personnel assisted the officer with viewing surveillance and the officer later identified the suspect. The suspect, a 54-year-old East Windsor man, turned himself in at police headquarters, was processed, and released on a complaint summons pending court action.

On July 27, at 12:23 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 133 West after observing the vehicle being operated recklessly. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and a warrant out of Monmouth County. The driver, an East Windsor resident, was arrested, taken to police headquarters, processed, and later taken to Mercer County Corrections.

On July 29, 3:21 p.m., an officer responded to ShopRite for a past tense shoplifting report. Loss prevention personnel reported the suspect shoplifted on several occasions. In total, the individual stole $164.59 worth of merchandise. The officer identified the suspect, a 29-year-old Pennington resident and charged her on a complaint summons pending court action.

On July 29, at 11:19 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 130 North near Town Center Road because the vehicle did not have a visible license plate displayed. The driver, a Hamilton resident, was found to have a suspended license and warrants out of Chesterfield and Bordentown. The driver was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed, and later turned over to the custody of the Chesterfield Police.

On July 31, at 9:22 p.m., an officer responded to Route 130 North near Route 571 for a two-car crash. The driver at fault for the collision showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The driver, a Trenton resident, was taken to police headquarters, processed, and later released pending court action.
