Attack On Jogger Was Just A Rumor, Metuchen Police Said

METUCHEN, NJ — A rumor about a jogger being attack in the borough is nothing more than a rumor, Metuchen police said.

Police say the rumor gained traction on social media, saying a man was attacked and his head was cracked open. "The Metuchen Police Department wants to inform everyone that this rumor is 100% inaccurate," police said.

The rumor spread quickly in a local Facebook post this week; it appears the post has been taken down as of this writing.
