Edison Cop Charged With Off-Duty DUI: Officials
No one was injured in the early-Friday morning crash, officials said.

EDISON, NJ — An off-duty Edison police officer has been charged with a DUI after allegedly getting into a crash on Friday, officials said.
Officer Robert Bertucci is accused of rear-ending another driver around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning on Route One near John Street, officials said. Bertucci and a man in his car were uninjured. Reliable police sources tell Patch that the passenger is a fellow off-duty police officer.
EMTs examined two people who were in the car Bertucci is accused of hitting; neither required medical attention.

Bertucci, a four-year Edison officer, has been suspended with pay, Chief Thomas Bryan said. His annual salary is listed as $75,000. The Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating the incident, Bryan said.
Before being hired by Edison, Bertucci worked for three years as an officer in Springfield.
