Edison Police Opens New Substation At Menlo Park Mall
Due to the increased number of calls from the mall, the township has opened a new substation to allow greater police presence.
EDISON, NJ – The Edison Police Department has opened its new substation at the Menlo Park Mall.
Located at 55 Parsonage Road, the additional substation is one of many public safety initiatives implemented by Mayor Sam Joshi and the Edison Police Department.
In 2023, the Edison Police Department received nearly 700 calls regarding Menlo Park Mall, averaging over two calls per day.

In the first five months of 2024 alone, there have been over 250 calls, officials said. Going by the increasing number of calls for assistance from the mall, the township decided to open a substation at the location.
This substation will allow for increased police presence, greater visibility, increased community engagement and accessibility to the public, faster response times and decreased travel times for officers.

“The Menlo Park Mall Substation will enhance our ability to expedite law enforcement matters and keep officers active on patrol. Additionally, there will also be command-level presence overseeing the substation,” Chief Thomas Bryan said.
Mayor Sam Joshi thanked the Menlo Park Mall security and management for their support on this initiative.
This is the second police substation in Edison, with the first located on Oak Tree Road.
Edison currently has 196 officers serving the community, the largest police force in 15 years.
