Garbage Dumper Caught In Edison, Police Say

Police say the man needed help after months of dumping garbage onto lawns.

EDISON, NJ — After three months of waking up to garbage dumped on their lawn, one Edison neighborhood can rest easy again after Edison police found the man responsible.

Police say residents in the area of New Dover Rd, Tingley Lane, and Anthony Ave (near Bishop Ahr High School) had garbage dumped on their lawns overnight for several months. These complaints launched police investigations and increased neighborhood patrols.

During the early morning hours of Dec. 28, a resident called to say a "suspicious person" was in the area.
