Showers, Restrooms Available For Edison Residents Affected By Water Main Break
Edison Township is also providing residents with access to bottled water.

EDISON, NJ — Edison Township is providing residents additional accommodations due to the recent water main break.
A 20-inch water main break occurred in the area of M Lane and Woodbridge Avenue, impacting water service along Woodbridge Avenue, Route 27, and parts of Talmadge Road.
Thousands of residents are currently without water services are crews work to fix the break.

The Minnie B Veal Community Center, at 1070 Grove Avenue, is now open for resident restroom usage and will be staffed with an officer from the Edison Police Department until 4 p.m. on Friday.
Additionally, the Edison Senior Center located at 2963 Woodbridge Avenue will provide restroom facilities and water distribution until 4 p.m. on Friday and will be staffed by a Health Department staff member and an Edison Police Officer.

Further, Edison Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Memorial Post 3117, at 53 National Road is also open for restroom use until 5 p.m. Friday.
Herbert Hoover Middle School, located at 174 Jackson Avenue, and James Monroe Elementary School, located at 7 Sharp Road, will have open restrooms as well.
Residents can also utilize showers at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) located at 1775 Oak Tree Road. The center's main phone number is 732-494-3232 and their hours are Friday, 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Monday 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Edison Township is also providing residents with access to bottled water in light of the recent boil water advisory.
The distribution centers are:
- Firehouse #1, 25 Plainfield Ave near Woodbridge Ave
- Firehouse #2, 1997 Route 27 at the corner of Langstaff.
Residents in need of water can visit these distribution centers and access gallons of water until further notice.
In order to receive the water, residents must show a valid ID as proof of residency.
As water is being turned back on in affected areas, residents may notice slight water leaks. If this occurs, they should contact Edison Water Utility at 732-248-6409 or Administrative Offices at 732-248-6407 for assistance.
