Terrier Killed By Pit Bull In Edison Friday Night
The dog remains on the loose, and residents are cautioned not to approach it.

EDISON, NJ — A Jack Russell terrier was fatally attacked by another dog during a late night walk in Edison on Friday, officials said.
The terrier's owner was walking the dog on a leash shortly before midnight Friday night near the Mill Pointe Condominiums. The owner told police an "aggressive pit bull" ran up to her terrier and began biting him; a nearby resident hit the attacking dog with a shovel, and the dog ran off.
Residents who saw the attack told police the dog wasn't on a leash and its owner wasn't nearby.
