Fair Lawn Man Helping To Raise Awareness About Veteran Suicide
Alan Krutchkoff is using art to raise awareness about the problem of veterans taking their own lives. He appeared on Fox News recently.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — One borough man is doing everything he can to ensure veterans stop taking their own lives.
Alan Krutchkoff is president of Adopt-A-Solider Platoon, a nonprofit that helps active and former members of the military. Adopt-A-Solider has partnered with Scott LoBaido to create a traveling art exhibit called "22-13" in an effort to help prevent veteran suicide.
Krutchoff, LoBaido, and Capt. John Woodall, president of Camp4Heroes appeared on Fox News Saturday to discuss the exhibit.

"We've been engulfed by the fact that a lot of these guys, men and women, have a hard time making the transition from military life to civilian life," Krutchoff said.
LoBaido created the art featured in the exhibit.

"Nobody wants to talk about it, we have to kill that stigma," LoBaido said.
According to a study by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, more than 20 veterans take their own lives every day. Many of them suffer from conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder.
The exhibit is traveling around the 13 original United States colonies.
