Fair Lawn Woman Struck By Car: Cops

A 48-year-old woman was not seriously injured after being struck by a car Friday afternoon in Fair Lawn, according to authorities.

FAIR LAWN, NJ - A 48-year-old woman was not seriously injured after being struck by a car Friday afternoon in Fair Lawn, according to authorities.

Sgt. Brian Metzler said officers were dispatched around 2 p.m. to Plaza Road at Morlot Avenue, where they found a Fair Lawn woman lying in the road with head and leg injuries.

Further investigation revealed the woman had been crossing Plaza Road when she was struck by a 2010 GMC Van operated by a 57-year-old Hackettstown man that was making a left turn from Morlot Avenue, Metzler said.

The driver remained at the scene after the crash and the woman was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson with injuries that were considered non-life threatening, Metzler said.

The crash is still under investigation at this time, according to police.
