SADDLE BROOK, NJ — The state executive order requiring masks in schools is set to expire Monday, and Saddle Brook Schools will also be mask-optional.
Districts have the option to keep the mandate in place after March 7.
The mandate for masks on school buses was also dropped.

Superintendent Toni Violetti announced this change at Saddle Brook schools last month.
Bergen County is now at a "low" COVID activity level, according to the state and to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"We will continue with our fully stocked sanitation stations in our buildings," Violetti said. "Our entire staff, students, and parents are commended for adhering to our guidelines and working together to have our students be able to attend school each day.
"We are steadily working towards attaining substantial growth in the academic achievement and social emotional development of our children. Thank you to all of you for your continued support in the role you serve in our successes."
