Classes/Lectures

From 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. tonight you can learn how to make sugar paste flowers at . The class will be taught by international cake competitor and instructor, Silvina Barboza. An eight session class on managing diabetes will begin tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the . The program called “Lighten Up for Diabetes” addresses the challenges of losing weight while managing diabetes. Each interactive group session includes one hour of nutrition with a registered dietitian who's also a Certified Diabetes Educator, and a half-hour of seated strength training with a certified fitness expert. The CentraState Medical Center will also be having a “Boys Grow Up” session at 7 p.m. tonight. There will be a discussion from CentraState’s health educator on the physical, social, chemical and emotional changes that will accompany puberty.
