Man Indicted on Alleged Weapon Charges
A Freehold man was indicted for allegedly assaulting another person with a knife.

A Monmouth County grand jury indicted Freehold resident, Andre Powell, 19, of Barkalow Avenue, on three charges involving the use of a weapon during an alleged assault.
According to the indictment, on Oct. 22, Powell allegedly assaulted someone with a deadly weapon in Freehold Borough. The indictment names the deadly weapon used in the alleged assault as a knife.
Powell has been indicted on three counts including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Both the aggravated assault charge and the possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes are third-degree charges. Unlawful possession of a weapon is a fourth degree charge.
