The holiday season has arrived in Hackettstown, bringing twinkling lights, cheerful events and plenty of ways to make memories close to home. From light displays to beloved local traditions, here are the hometown holiday highlights you won’t want to miss.

Hometown Holiday Celebration

When: Friday, December 5 – Saturday, December 6, 2025
Where: Downtown Hackettstown & Hackettstown Community Center (Winter Wonderland with Santa)

Hackettstown’s annual Hometown Holiday celebration returns on Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 — as confirmed by the Hackettstown BID — with two days of festive fun throughout downtown. Visitors can stroll, shop, eat and drink locally while enjoying holiday activities, live entertainment and seasonal cheer. On Saturday, families can visit Santa at the Rec Center’s Winter Wonderland, presented in partnership with the Hackettstown Recreation Department.

Trinity United Methodist Community Craft Market

When: Saturday, December 6, 2025 | 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Where: Trinity United Methodist Church, 213 Main St., Hackettstown, NJ

Browse handmade gifts and goods from local artisans, including cut glass art, jewelry, knitted and crocheted items, wood décor, crystals, gemstone pieces, baby items, “Mommy and Me” aprons and more. Guests can also enjoy homemade soup, snacks and hot and cold beverages while they shop. The Hackettstown Street Fair is happening the same day, making it a perfect opportunity to spend the day downtown.

Pet Pictures with Santa at Tickner’s

When: Friday, December 13, 2025 | 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
Where: Tickner’s, 90 Main St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840

Bring your pets (and the whole family!) to Tickner’s for photos with Santa — complimentary digital copies are provided. Tickner’s is a family-owned feed, farm, garden and pet supply store, and the entire store will be on sale during the event, making it a fun way to get festive pictures and holiday shopping done in one stop.

Ugly Sweater Party at Czig Meister Brewing Company

When: Friday, December 13, 2025 | 6 p.m.
Where: Czig Meister Brewing Company, 106 Valentine St., Hackettstown, NJ

Czig Meister is celebrating the season with its annual Ugly Sweater Party — guests are encouraged to wear their most outrageous holiday sweaters. The night features live music from The Tonighters and a special Holiday Cookie Flight with festive brews like Rainbow Cookie Imperial Stout, Chocolate Rum Ball British Mild, White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Imperial Stout and Snickerdoodle Sour.

Orchard of Lights

When: Opens November 22, 2025 – December 30, 2025 (Opening night November 22)

This drive-through holiday experience takes you on a guided tour through 32 acres of dazzling light displays, plus a stop to enjoy hot cocoa, s’mores, a fire pit, Santa photos and even singing reindeer in the farm market. It’s about a 45-minute to 1-hour drive from Hackettstown, and worth the trip — but be sure to reserve tickets in advance, as timed entry is required and often sells out.

Winter WonderLights

When: Nights in December through December 28, typically from 5:30-10:00 p.m. (see website for exact timing)
Where: 655 Cranbury Rd., East Brunswick, NJ 08816
This is a full drive-through experience featuring over two million synchronized holiday lights and themed tunnels that immerse you in mid-air, winter-wonderland magic. As you cruise through you’ll spot larger-than-life displays and festive music pulsing from your vehicle’s speakers, turning the ride into an event in itself. It’s about a 1-hour to 1-hour 15-minute drive from Hackettstown depending on traffic, but the scale and spectacle make the trip well worth it — tickets and timed reservations must be secured in advance.

Skylands Stadium Light Show & Christmas Village

When: Select dates from November 22 – December 30, 2025
Where: 94 Championship Place, Augusta, NJ 07822

This popular holiday attraction features a one-mile drive-through course illuminated by more than two million lights, creating tunnels, displays and festive scenes you can enjoy from the warmth of your car. After the drive, visitors can head into the Christmas Village for photos with Santa, s’mores by the fire pits, seasonal treats, games and holiday vendors. It’s roughly a 35- to 45-minute drive from Hackettstown, making it a convenient local outing — just be sure to purchase tickets in advance, as timed entry is required and nights often sell out.
