A Birthday to Remember
Jill Young, a Resident of The Arc of Warren County, Will Share Her Story at the WRNJ Radiothon on June 5, 2019

Washington, N.J., April 15, 2019 – Jill Young, a longtime resident of The Arc of Warren County, will spend her birthday a little differently than she has in the past. On June 5, 2019, she will spend part of her special day by giving an on-air interview about her experiences with the organization for The Arc of Warren County’s Radiothon with WRNJ.
Jill was born with a pulmonary heart defect and has received services from The Arc of Warren County for fifteen years. She resides in one of the 17 residential programs that The Arc manages in Warren County. Over the years, she has participated in Camp Warren and has enjoyed many of the programs that The Arc of Warren County offers through the Recreation Department. Her activity favorites include social club dances, bowling and Bingo. She traveled to Rocking Horse Ranch in New York with other residents from The Arc of Warren County two years ago and has participated in other various vacation programs. During her time with The Arc of Warren County, she was an employee of Taco Bell for fourteen years. It was an experience that was very rewarding for her, but she needed to relinquish the position as a result of her condition.
“My family feels very comfortable knowing that I am receiving great care through The Arc of Warren County,” she says. “They do not need to worry about my well-being. The Arc of Warren County even provides transportation and support for my heart doctor visits in Philadelphia since I have been a resident. My health is improving and I am in good spirits. It is great that everyone is very friendly and helps each other out.”
