FL Man Admits To Sexually Assaulting 6-Year-Old In NJ: Prosecutor
The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge of sexual assault and faces up to 10 years in prison, authorities said.
WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A Florida resident pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a six-year-old child, according to the Warren County Prosecutor's Office.
Cameron M. Scrudato, of Inverness, was accused of sexually assaulting the child in July 2018, in Phillipsburg.
The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge of sexual assault on Aug. 6 before a trial started, said officials.

Phillipsburg Police Chief Robert Stettner, Acting Warren County Prosecutor Anthony Picione, and Acting Chief of Detectives Brenton Warne announced the plea in a joint statement.
Records show that authorities arrested Scrudato in August of 2021, in Citrus County, Fla. Scrudato's sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 16, and he remains in custody at the Warren County Correctional Center.

Per the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend Scrudato be sentenced to 10 years in prison subject to the No Early Release Act, and have to register as a sex offender for life. He is also responsible for reimbursing Warren County for the costs spent to extradite him, officials said.
