Hackettstown Native Picked Up By KC Royals In MLB Draft

Anthony Veneziano is the fourth New Jersey native to be drafted in this year's MLB draft.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Hackettstown native Anthony Veneziano has been drafted by the KC Royals in the 10th round of the MLB Draft.

The Warren Hills High School graduate and fourth-year junior at Coastal Carolina was the 289th pick overall in the 2019 draft. The left-handed pitcher went 5-3 with 85 strikeouts in 78.0 innings in 21 games this past collegiate season.

Veneziano is the fourth New Jersey player to be drafted so far. The last ten rounds will take place on Wednesday.
