Hackettstown's Donaldson Farms Donates $5,000 To Red Cross

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - Thanks to the farm family, literal and figurative, the Red Cross received $5,000 from Donaldson Farms as part of their "Season of Support."

According to officials if you:

• took an adventure in our corn maze - $1 of your entry fee was donated
• if you signed up to donate blood - you helped save lives
• if you dropped $1, $20 or pocket change in donation jars - every penny helped

The Farmers, Greg and nephew Justin, presented Fred Spages with the donation. Spages has been a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross for the past 12 years! He is a past Exalted Ruler of the Hackettstown Elks Lodge and, his wife, Carol Ann is currently the Lodge Secretary.
"They have been serving our community in so many ways throughout the years; as Girl Scout Leaders, providing Disaster Relief, Armed Forces Support and as Community Volunteer Leaders of Sussex County," the farm posted to social media. "Their giving spirit keeps neighborhoods together. We couldn’t be more proud to have them in ours."

They also wrote of their reverence for front line workers.

"Throughout 2020, we have also steadfastly relied on, and have been in awe of, our healthcare workers. These dedicated, often selfless heroes have our sincerest of thanks for helping those who continue to need it most," they said. "Thank you for joining us in celebrating their efforts in a fun way on the farm this past season. We are proud to spotlight Red Cross - NJ Region and the Atlantic Health Hospitals that serve our communities."
