Help us Save the Pool!!
Centenary Pool is closing! So many high school swimmers will be affected!

Hackettstown High School Swim Team is in trouble! HHS, along with other schools like West Morris Central and Warren Hills, may no longer be able to continue. Centenary has inadvertently, and without warning, decided to close the pool come August 31st. The above mentioned high schools have swim teams because they buy practice time at Centenary University. This sudden announcement leaves the high schools without a facility to practice and at this late date, there may be no available pool time in the area. Clearly, this adversely affects current swimmers and especially seniors, who may be hoping to swim in college. Another negative impact is on the community at large as Centenary pool has hosted water safety programs, swim lessons to all ages, swim club, swim classes for adults and seniors, as well community swims. Please help by writing or calling Centenary president, Dr. Haney @ Haneyd@centenaryuniversity.edu. One would hope that at the very minimum, they give one more season to these schools while the swim teams attempt to regroup and find another pool in which to practice. Swimmers are the very dedicated and disciplined types of students that Centenary should be lucky to have apply to their university.
