Hunterdon, Sussex, Warren County Human Service Departments Host Substance Abuse Prevention Seminar
Approximately 70 people attended the "Treatment and Recovery Resources for Opioid Addiction" seminar, officials said.

WARREN COUNTY, N.J.– Approximately 70 people attended a substance abuse prevention and treatment fields entitled "Treatment and Recovery Resources for Opioid Addiction" hosted by the Hunterdon, Sussex and Warren county Human Service Departments at the Hawk Pointe Country Club.
Presenters – including Dr. Louis E. Baxter, president and chief executive officer of the Professional Assistance Program of New Jersey; Adam Bucon of the state Opioid Treatment Authority for the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services; and Michael Santillo, director of integrated care cervices at Eva's Village (Paterson) – and a panel of experts discussed treatment options, according to a press release.
Their presentation discussed current myths, opinions and biases regarding the environment of substance abuse treatment, the press release states.

Each panelist was given time to discuss the services and programs their agencies provide and any issues or obstacles they come across while delivering them, the release states.
Also discussed: The New Jersey Opioid Antidote and Overdose Prevention Act which provides legalprotection, both civil and criminal, to most overdose victims as well as the person who seeks medical assistance for the victim of an opioid overdose, the release states.
