JCP&L Planned Outage In Hackettstown Rescheduled For Sept. 1

The date for the original outage for a portion of town, which was supposed to have been on Aug. 25, has been changed.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — JCP&L had originally scheduled a power outage for a section of Main Street, but now has a new date for the planned outage on Wednesday, Sept. 1.

Hackettstown Police Department announced the change on both social media and Nixle, slightly over an hour before JCP&L was initially planning to turn off the power.

JCP&L’s planned power shutdown is to do some emergency work in that section from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 1 on Main Street near Center Street. JCP&L customers in the outage area are expected to receive notices from the company.

On the day of the outage, the Police Department reports that there will be a single and lane-shifting traffic patterns between Center and East Plane Streets.
