WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A North Jersey teacher's aide is facing charges after authorities said he physically assaulted a 5-year-old child. Philip J. Carlton, 60, of Stewartsville, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday. According to a NJ Advance Media report, the incident occurred at a public school in Belvidere. Authorities did not specify which school and did not release details about the alleged assault. The Belvidere Police Department conducted the investigation. If convicted, Carlton faces up to 10 years in state prison.
