NJ Stand-Off Ends In Gun, Assault, Terroristic Threat Charges

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A Warren County man has been arrested after assaulting someone with a gun and subsequently barricading himself inside a Pohatcong home for hours, according to prosecutors.
On Friday, just before 5 a.m., Pohatcong police officers were called out to Manor Road on a report that someone was physically assaulted and threatened with a gun.
Officers arrived to find the suspect, Ian M. Walker, 50, of Phillipsburg, had locked himself inside the Manor Road residence and refused to come out, police said. Officials added that Walker and the victim knew each other.

When Walker refused to exit the building, authorities launched “a coordinated response of tactical assets” to assist during the stand-off.
After several attempts to contact Walker, he exited the residence six hours later and was arrested.

Police searched the residence and found Walker to be in possession of several firearms and multiple rounds of ammunition, according to authorities.
He was charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon.
Walker was taken to the Warren County Correctional Center to await court proceedings.
If convicted on all charges, Walker faces up to 22 years in prison.
