Sept. 2
At just about 2 AM early Friday morning, Hackettstown police were called to Main Street on the report of a disorderly male inside of an apartment building. When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old guy coming out of the building. The 19-year-old, of Hackettstown, had been drinking, and was yelling and banging on the door of his friend's place in order to get his shoe laces. The fellow continued to be argumentative and refused to listen to officers who were attempting to calm him down. The 19-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct and was released pending a court appearance.

A little before the incident on Main Street, at just about 1:30 AM, other Hackettstown officers were patrolling the streets when they found a woman standing in the middle of the road, at the intersection of Washington Street and Grand Avenue, yelling and in the way of traffic. This 18-year-old from Elizabeth kept walking away from the officers and refused to comply with their instructions. She too was charged with disorderly conduct and was released pending a court appearance.
That same day, in a third incident, Hackettstown police responded to the alert of a man sleeping at a Quick Chek, on Main Street. Officers who arrived on scene found a man standing outside of the Quick Chek, holding a brown paper bag. That man, a 56-year-old from Rahway, was holding an open bottle of Absolut Citron Vodka inside that bag. The fellow also had a $400.00 Perth Amboy municipal court criminal warrant and a $750.00 Woodbridge municipal court criminal warrant. The Rahway man was released on the warrants, pending a court appearance and he was charged with possession of an open container of alcohol in public and given a court appearance date for that.
