Police Log: Drug Arrest Among Recent Complaints In Hackettstown
Hackettstown Police find heroin on two individuals during a routine motor vehicle stop.

Hackettstown Police arrested two individuals during a traffic stop on Monday for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia:
Sept. 5
At about 1:55 PM, a police officer stopped a car for a moving violation. The officer spoke to the driver, a 27-year-old from Hopatcong, NJ. Upon investigation, the police officer found the driver to have a hypodermic syringe with possibly heroin residue, a glass pipe containing suspected other drug residue, and many bits of wax paper with what seemed to be heroin residue. The 28-year-old passenger from Hopatcong also had wax paper with what the officer believed to be heroin residue, as well as other drug paraphernalia. Both individuals were arrested and charged with possession of hypodermic syringe and possession of heroin. The driver was also charged with speeding. Both were released pending a court appearance.

Sept. 6
At about 8:16 PM, the Hackettstown Police responded to Marley’s Gotham Grill on Main Street in reference to a male that left without paying a $26.15 tab. A description of the vehicle and suspect were given out to surrounding towns. Mansfield Police located and stopped the vehicle on Route 57. The suspect was identified as a 20-year-old from Glen Gardner, NJ. The suspect was transported to police headquarters so he could make contact with someone to come with the money. A friend responded with the money and the bill was paid. The suspect was charged with disorderly conduct and was released pending a court appearance.
