Police Log: False ID Among Recent Complaints In Hackettstown
Driver gives officer someone else's ID in hopes to dupe him, police say.

On September 9, at just past midnight, a Hackettstown officer stopped a car on Route 182 for a violation. The driver didn't initially produce an ID--just a name. According to police, he said his name was Roberto Luna. Then the driver handed his ID over, with that name. The officer looked at the picture on the ID and then the face of the driver and according to the policeman, there was no match. Through some investigation, the officer discovered the driver's true identity and then charged the man with providing false information to law enforcement, maintenance of lamps, unlicensed driver, and failure to possess driver’s license (non-resident). The individual was released pending a court appearance.
