Snow, Low Wind Chills Could Hit Hackettstown

The school district already called a two-hour delay for Thursday, with the potential of snow overnight.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Another round of snow has been forecast for the Hackettstown area overnight Wednesday into Thursday, with schools already calling a two-hour delay for Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory through 11 a.m. on Thursday, with the potential for three inches of snow possible, creating the possibility of slippery road conditions for the morning commute as roads thaw and then re-freeze.

The storm is likely begin as rain on Wednesday night before it transitions to snow overnight into Thursday, the National Weather Service forecasts.

A temperature drop is expected to follow on Thursday, plunging from 24 to 7 degrees overnight into Friday, with the possibility of wind chills hovering around -3 on Thursday night.

Thursday: Snow, mainly before 9am. Temperature falling to around 24 by 5pm. North wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as -4. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: A slight chance of snow after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 5. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 24.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 11.
