Snow, Winter Weather Could Hit Hackettstown
Residents may see up to two inches of snow by Friday, the National Weather Service forecasted, with Hackettstown schools closed for the day.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Hackettstown residents could see up to two inches of snow fall with a storm expected to wind down by Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Ahead of the storm, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory to run from 7 p.m. on Thursday to 1 p.m. on Friday. That advisory called for up to three inches of snow in some sections of Warren and Morris Counties.
Hackettstown Public Schools are also closed on Friday, according to a Hackettstown Police Department announcement made Thursday evening.

The storm is expected to begin as snow and sleet before 1 a.m. Friday, before becoming sleet after 2 a.m., the National Weather Service forecasted.
There could also be wind gusts up to 25 mph from the storm, the National Weather Service predicted.

Rain and snow may continue until 2 p.m., with rain a possibility until 4 p.m. and a high of 41 degrees, the National Weather Service said.

Into Friday: Snow and sleet likely between 11pm and 1am, then sleet. Low around 27. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of around an inch possible.
Friday: Rain, snow, and freezing rain before 3pm, then a slight chance of rain between 3pm and 4pm. High near 41. East wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of around a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 17. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 20. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
