"Snowfall rates over 1 inch per hour are expected at times Tuesday morning, making for a potentially treacherous morning commute along the I-78 and I-80 corridors," said the NWS.

Weather experts advised that more than 6 inches of snowfall can lead to many accidents and spin-outs on roadways, and severe travel delays on the air and in the ground. People are advised to stay indoors and not travel by vehicle, and to pack a winter supply kit that has warm clothes, cell chargers, water, and a flashlight if they must drive.
