Warren Co. Man In Critical Condition After Jersey Shore Drowning

Officials said the patient was clamming off an Atlantic Highlands bay before the incident.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — A Warren County man is in critical condition after being pulled from Jersey Shore waters this weekend.

The Phillipsburg man, 62, was clamming in the bay off the Henry Hudson Trail in Atlantic Highlands, Monmouth County, on Sunday before apparently drowning in the water, officials said.

Atlantic Highlands and Highlands first responders were called out to Pompamora Point Park just before noon to assist the man as he was struggling in the bay.

The 62-year-old, unconscious, was pulled from the water, and first responders performed CPR and utilized AEDs to regain his pulse.

The man was rushed to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, where he is currently in critical condition in the ICU.

Monmouth County Park Rangers said the incident does not seem suspicious.
