Road Closed 13 Hours By Broken Water Main In Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Water main repairs closed Valentine Street for about 13 hours on Monday in Hackettstown, the police department said.
A break in the water main shut down Valentine Street between Main Street/Route 46 and Washington Street at about 6:50 a.m. on Monday. The Hackettstown Police Department reopened the road at 5:45 p.m., according to its alert.
Through traffic was being detoured from Valentine Street as the main was repaired, said Sgt. Darren Tynan, a spokesperson for the police department.

Tynan said road crews initially aimed to wrap up the repair before the evening commute.
The cause of the break was unknown, according to Tynan.
