Winter Weather Advisory Issued In Parts Of NJ

A storm passing through the region overnight could leave a glaze on roads and sidewalks in northern NJ. Here's the forecast:

NEW JERSEY — Snow and sleet could complicate travel conditions in Sussex County for the Tuesday morning commute, according to a Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

The advisory, initially on Monday to include Berks and Lehigh Counties in Pennsylvania, stretched into northern New Jersey to include Warren and Sussex, as well as Pennsylvania's Carbon, Monroe and Northampton Counties on Tuesday. Through Wednesday morning at 7 a.m., it included Sussex, Carbon and Monroe Counties only.

As temperatures hover at about 33 degrees into Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service forecasts, it could leave behind an icy glaze on untreated road surfaces and bridges.

A chance of light rain, mainly before 7am. Cloudy, with a high near 43. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

By Wednesday night

A chance of rain after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 35. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
