Calling All Tree Huggers
Haddonfield's newest volunteer group—the Haddonfield Branch Managers.
The Haddonfield Shade Tree Commission has launched a new group of volunteers to care for the borough's nearly 10,000 trees in the public right of way.
The Haddonfield Branch Managers are among a group of 18 people who received two evenings of classroom training with the support of the Haddonfield Adult School and have committed to participate in at least two of four half-day sessions of hands-on training in pruning and caring for the town’s street trees, according to Robin Potter, chairperson of the Shade Tree Commission.
The group is active this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will meet in the back of the Acme parking lot near the . Potter urges participants to bring gloves and sharp hand-pruners.

"The weather is supposed to be reasonably sunny, but about 15 degrees colder than today," Potter said.
